Clouds Passing – 2004
Color pencil on black paper – 13 x 21
Like clouds, moods come and go, and often they just evaporate. Wispy strokes of white color pencil create a vaporous effect. The fuzzy, rosy aura surrounding this cluster of fleeting figures is a glimpse of potential relief, as though the sun were lurking somewhere not too far off. Laughter, like a warm breeze, can whisk away the cloudiest of moods. Or, this drawing could be viewed while listening to a quiet jazz piece, such as “Here’s That Rainy Day,” again.
